Software Research and Development

New product design and development is a crucial factor in the survival of a company and at EPV we have focused our research on the design of intelligent systems. In an industry that is fast changing, firms like EPV must continually revise our design and range of products. This is necessary due to continuous software technology change and the changing preference of our customers. EPV has collaborated with other firms and universities in developing products that will utilize Collaborative Intelligent Software Agents (CSA) in a Service Oriented Architecture. (SOA) ObjectShield™ is a product of this technology.

  • Collaborative Intelligent Software Agent Design
    • Our development of Collaborative Intelligent Software Agent (CSA) system technology is rapidly moving software from a data centric environment to an information centric environment in which EPV Group is uniquely positioned with the engineering expertise to use this technology in a number of different applications.
  • Ontology Data Model Design
    • Through contextual inquiry techniques, EPV develops data models to be used within an information domain used by Intelligent Software Agents.
    • Contextual inquiry is a technique we use that involves collecting detailed information about customer work practice by observing and interviewing the stakeholders while they are performing their jobs. This information is captured by both observations of stakeholder behavior and conversations. This means that EPV tries to form a partnership with the stakeholder, i.e., learning (but not doing). The goal is to understand how and why something is done or why something is not done. This inquiry is a key component in our ability to develop a good ontology data model.
  • RDBMS Design Interface with Graphical User Interface
    • EPV has perfected the integration of intelligent graphic interfaces with relational database management systems. (RDBMS) Our in-depth knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) systems as well as RDBMS design and administration has created integrated applications that dominate the central office-engineering field.
